BMW has a very long tradition of four seat coupés going back to 1937. The recipe has always been the same: graceful elegance combined with sporting driving behaviour. There is of cause much more besides this, but these two characteristics are the pre-requisites for any successful BMW coupé, old as new.
70 years of design and engineering experience has done well. All of it has been distilled in the new BMW 3 Series Coupé, the third generation bearing the classic name. It is a car of many contradictions: it is larger and more spacious than its predecessor but with newer technologies, also weighs less.
It is more powerful (and torquey) yet more economical and produces lower emissions. It shines with the new technology and comfort features, most only available in much higher market segments, but it won't break the bank.
And it is clothed inside an elegant stylish coupé body that could only be a BMW.
